Our First Dance
One thing that I always wanted at my wedding was a fun first dance. Being a dancer, I always had visions of my first dance with my husband to be this big Dancing with the Stars production number. While B and I aren’t dance pros, we definitely had some fun with our first dance.
Brandon picked out both of our first dance songs. He loves listening to music and finding new artists. Awhile ago, he found an artist named Stefano who sings this song called I’m On A Roll. I loved this song from the very first time I heard it because I love upbeat songs that I can dance to. It quickly became one of my favorite songs and was put onto my running playlist.
Once we started to fall in love with this song and we both were constantly singing it, B came across a slow song by the same artist called Yes To Love. I really loved this song because the lyrics really resonated with me and B and our relationship over the previous 6 years.
Since we loved both songs, we thought it would be fun to start out with a slow dance and then mix the songs so the faster, upbeat one came on after a bit. And you know we had to have a choreographed dance to go along with it! The two weeks before the wedding, this dance was all we worked on. Granted I had some big ideas for this dance, but I realized my future husband just couldn’t shake his groove thing the way I wanted him to. But with some practice (and me trying to get him to do the moves the way I wanted), we came up with a dance that we knew no one expected us to bust out.
I’m so glad we decided to add in some choreographed moves. It was so much fun and it gave all of our guests something to talk about!
All we kept saying to each other when we were slow dancing was “are you ready for this?” “omg, people are going to go nuts when they see this!”
Here we go!
Needless to say, we got some cheers after our dance!
