Friday Favorites #4

Finally…FRIDAY! There’s no greater feeling than waking up on Friday morning knowing the weekend is only a few hours away! The husband and I have another busy weekend on tap as we’re heading up to Minnesota for one of our friend’s weddings. I’m looking forward to another road trip with B and also catching up with some of my besties I haven’t seen in awhile.

This past week I’ve had some new things enter my life that I’m becoming obsessed with. Check out what I’ve been loving lately!

I’ve wanted to try this for awhile but I kept thinking that this would be like putting sunscreen on each day. It’s not like a sunscreen spray at all! It sprays in a more concentrated area and the formula is light and thin. It dries really fast on my skin and the result is the smoothest and softest skin I have ever had. I’m officially converted to spray lotion now!

I take one of these mugs every morning with my favorite juice in it, an Arnold Palmer (half ice tea, half lemonade). Of course I love this because it’s pink and sparkly, but this has also been handy since they’re doubled walled. Since it’s been extremely hot out, this cup doesn’t sweat like other cups do and therefore my desk at work stays dry and not a puddle of water on it.

Speaking of mugs, one of my favorite things to get from one of our local coffeehouses is not only the seasonal Arnold Palmer but also a chai tea latte from Scooter’s. Their chai tea is seriously the BEST I have ever had. While I’d love to get it everyday, I try not to drink too many calories each day, so I keep this as a special treat to myself once in awhile. I’ve tried to make this at home for myself numerous times, but it always tastes better when I get it from here. If you’re a fan of Scooter’s Coffee, starting this Monday they’ll be available at grocery stores, including Hyvee’s across the state of Nebraska. Flavors available include Scooter’s Blend, Ethiopian Select and Scooter Doodle. So much easier to get your favorite coffee at home if a location isn’t nearby.

Things I’m Loving Friday #3

Friday Friday, gotta get down on Friday! Happy weekend everyone! I’ve been so looking forward to this week being over. The past 2 weeks at work have been short for me since we’ve been traveling so working a full 5 days this week was a bit rough! I’m looking forward to sleeping in and having nothing to do this weekend! One thing on the agenda is maybe trying out a new workout class somewhere in town…but other than that, it’s me and my pups cuddling this weekend since the hubs is out of town. It’s a nice welcome to be home and have a free weekend because I’m getting over being sick so I’m sure there will be lots of rest involved this weekend!

I’ve had a few new things that I’ve been loving lately so let’s get started!

caramel bar

I’ve mentioned my love of the KIND Dark Chocolate Almond and Sea Salt bar before but this one with caramel is just AMAZING. It reminds me of a candy bar and I look forward to eating this as my mid-morning snack everyday now!

gtea

Lemonade is one of my favorite things to drink and when it’s paired with my favorite hot drink, green tea, it’s even better! I forgot how good this is since I pretty much have a love affair with Arizona Ice Tea’s Arnold Palmer’s. In fact I drink one everyday, that’s how much I love them! Last weekend I was in Chicago and fell back in love with this drink. I’ve been making a few more trips to Starbucks this week to enjoy this tasty drink, and now I’m trying to find a similar recipe to make for myself at home since it’s probably not the best idea to order one from Starbucks every single day.

oh joy

I’m a little late on this bandwagon, but after seeing a few Instagram photos of the adorable condiment carrier, I headed to Target and snatched a few things up! All of these items are so colorful and fun and I can’t wait to use them the next time we grill out!

  • My brand sparkling new niece!

My sister gave birth to a beautiful little peanut on Tuesday and I couldn’t be more excited to be an aunt again! I love my nephew more than anything and having a little baby girl to spoil has been so dangerous! My sister did not find out the gender of the baby, so I was on pins and needles waiting to hear what she was going to have. When my mom texted me that she had a girl, I went right to Etsy and started ordering tons of things for her! Since my family lives out of state, I am so excited to find a weekend to go home to meet the little pumpkin but I am already so so so in love with her! I hope she loves leopard and sparkles as much as me!

Hope you all had a great week and an even better weekend! What are you all up to this first weekend of June?

May Favorites

Well, another month has flown by! It was a busy month for the husband and I. We celebrated my birthday, headed to Scottsdale for a long weekend, had our first anniversary, and we traveled to Chicago because I was a bridesmaid in my college best friend’s wedding. WHEW!

Another month ending means time for some monthly favorites! I tried out quite a few new products this month that I fell in love with, including some new snacks!

4 Or More Makeup Tag

I think we all have those pieces of clothing in our closet that fit so well we have them in multiple colors. Or makeup items that we purchase and fall in love with and have to have them in multiple colors. Recently I took a good look at my makeup collection and realized that there are a few products that I have a lot of colors of. One thing that stands out to me is how many lip products I have! I am a total lip product junkie, especially when it comes to drugstore lip products. They’re so inexpensive and have great colors at a fraction of the price of high end brands!

Take a look into my collection and see which items I have multiples of. Obviously, I highly recommend all of the products in this video!

Let’s Party!

Today is actually my 28th birthday..yay! Happy birthday to me! I had a fantastic weekend back home with my parents a couple of weeks ago filled with great food and even more fabulous presents! Tonight I’m looking forward to just spending time at home with my husband since he’s been gone a lot lately. Does that make me old since I’d rather be on the couch in my pi’s then go out on my birthday?

I wanted to share one of the most adorable and unique presents one of my besties sent me in the mail. I was surprised when my husband said there was a package for me on out front porch. it was this blue box that said Packed Party. I had no idea what it was so I was excited to tear it open!

It was a gift from one of my favorite besties, Molly who lives in Iowa. This was basically a birthday party in a box! It had some of the most adorable things in it. This was a perfect way to kick off some early birthday celebrating! Check out what came in this adorable birthday box!

2014-05-04 19.50.30

The note that accompanied the box. I’m the Birthday Beb!

2014-05-04 19.51.32

This was a wish capsule. You put your wish in it and carry it around with you.

2014-05-04 19.51.50

I have a major sweet tooth and I can’t wait to dig into this champagne flavored candies. Cheers!

2014-05-04 19.52.15This was my favorite item in the box! It’s a gold wish bone necklace. I love wearing dainty necklaces and I can’t wait to wear it!

2014-05-04 19.51.20

I love gum too and since I believe cake is one of the major food groups, this is right up my alley!

2014-05-04 19.50.56You can have a party in your shower too! This is a birthday soap that smells to clean and fresh.

2014-05-04 19.50.41

Every party needs some confetti for more fun!

I just thought this was such a fabulous and unique present to give someone. It was a fun surprise to receive in the mail too. I checked out their website and they have some other fun boxes that you can send too including a miss you, spa day, and even a box for when your bestie breaks up with her man! So creative! Why didn’t I think of this idea?

If you need a gift idea or just want to send someone some love in the mail, I would highly suggest sending them a Packed Party box. Because let’s be honest, who doesn’t want a reason to party?

April Favorites

Well another month is over and you know what that means, time for some favorites! I don’t have a ton of favorites this month, but I do have a multiple of favorite hair products, lip colors and foundation. Check out my latest Youtube video to see what items I’ve been constantly reaching for this past month!

If you’re interested in any of the items I mention in my video, I have all of them saved on my handy, dandy luvocracy board as well!

Making a statement

Wearing a statement necklace has become my go to accessory for my outfits recently. Being the girly girl that I am, I always loved adding a little bit of sparkle and shine to my outfits. What I love the most about these necklaces is, well simply put, they make a statement! You can dress them up or down, and you can make them work with almost any outfit!

Here’s how I’ve been styling some of my favorite statement necklaces recently:

6

This shirt from Express is one of my favorite things to wear. It’s a blouse in a beautiful hot pink color, and I think it just screams springtime! Here, I paired two of my favorite statement necklaces with it. Both of the necklaces are from Shoplately.com and the top one is a pearl cluster while the bottom one is a bling bouquet necklace. Since it’s a plain colored top, adding both the sparkle and the pearl create a statement that works with this outfit.

3

I wanted to experiment with color and mixing prints with this outfit. I think that polka dots and red are a classic look that always go together, but decided to take a walk on the wild side and add the leopard belt. Since the belt is skinny, it doesn’t clash with the rest of the outfit. The necklace helps to add some texture and sparkle to this ensemble.

1

I am not your typical jeans and a t-shirt kinda girl. One day I wanted to wear my favorite rhinestone Wisconsin Badger t-shirt to work, while still looking work appropriate. Since my shirt and blazer were black, I decided to dress up this dressed down look with the pearl cluster necklace.  While this is a casual look, I think the necklace added some sophistication to this otherwise plain look.

5

Leopard is one of my favorite things to wear and I find that I wear it a lot during the winter time. I wanted to bring my favorite “neutral” into springtime, so I paired it with a coral cardigan. Coral is one of my favorite spring time colors to wear! Adding this floral necklace helped to add some bling to the outfit while not making it too busy with the bright color and leopard print top.

4While on vacation, I wanted to still wear my favorite baubles. Pairing the floral bling necklace with this fun wifey t-shirt helped me feel a little bit more dressed up on a casual night out on the beach.

2While I love wearing pink and polka dots together, this outfit needed a little bit of pop to it. I added this multicolored bouquet necklace to my outfit which helped take it from classy to fabulous.

As you can see, it’s easy to make a lot of different looks with statement necklaces by either dressing them up or down, or pairing them together to create a new look. Shoplately.com has become my new go-to website when I want statement necklaces because not only are there tons to choose from, but they’re inexpensive too! The site reminds me a lot of Etsy as they have different sellers/stores on there that you can purchase from. They not only have necklaces but other jewelry and accessories and even clothes! I could spend hours on there looking for new jewels to add to my collection..oh wait, I already have spent hours finding my favorites! If you’re looking to add to your accessory collection, I highly recommend checking them out!

Friday Favorites: March

I can’t believe that March is almost over! I’m looking forward for April to come so it *hopefully* starts to get warmer out and spring finally makes its appearance and sticks around.

With the end of the month comes a list of products and things that I’ve been constantly using throughout the month. Take a look at my video to see what things I’ve been loving all month long!

Things I’m Loving on Friday

Things I’m Loving Friday

Happy Friday! Are you all glad it’s the weekend like I am?! After a long week of work, I am excited to have a weekend at home with nothing to do! I think the next couple of days will involve some sleeping in, running, catching up on my DVR and best of all…enjoying the weather! It’s supposed to hit 60 degrees on Sunday which means I can finally take my two fur babies on a nice, long walk. I can tell that even they are starting to go stir crazy!

Speaking of warm weather, that leads me to one of my favorites that I’m loving lately!

Jergens Natural Glow in Medium/Dark

jergens natural glow

Since I am officially over winter, I needed something that would get me in the mood for spring. And one way to get a little bit happier is with a tan. Since I can’t lay out in the sun, I started using my Jergens Natural Glow in medium/dark this past week. I used to use this lotion in the color light/medium all the time but then I stopped a year or two ago once my husband starting making fun of me because it would streak on me and turn orange. I put this on every few days and it gradually builds a tan on me. It does have a bit of that stinky/self tan smell, but I love the results from it. I already feel like I’ve been sunkissed! And now my legs don’t look so ghostly scary when I’m wearing shorts at the gym!

Nivea A Kiss Of Olive Oil and Lemon Lip Balm

nivea olive oil

I am a HUGE fan of all lip products whether it’s a lip stick, lip stain and especially lip balms! For the longest time, I was the biggest fan of Burts’ Bees. I had those little yellow tubes everywhere..in my car, my gym bag, on my desk. On a whim, I picked this up at Ulta and, dare I say it, I love it MORE than Burt’s Bees! This balm is so smooth and moisturizing on your lips that it makes Burt’s look dry and not soothing on your lips at all!

Covergirl Lipperfection Jumbo Balm in Rose Twist

cg

And speaking of lip products, here’s one that I have been reaching for in my purse each morning for a swipe of color. I have these in a few different colors but right now Rose Twist is the perfect “my lips but better” color. This chubby pencil goes on smooth and feels like butter on your lips while still having that glossy look. It’s a great option for a no nonsense everyday lip color.

Crystal Light liquid drink mix in Blackberry Lemonade

crystal light

Even though all I pretty much drink is water, sometimes I want a little bit of flavor in my drink. Since I rarely drink juice or soda (I’d rather waste my calories on a cupcake!), I’ve been turning to these gems. It’s a liquid concentrate you put a few spritzes of in your water. It has no calories and adds a yummy taste to your water. My current favorite is this blackberry lemonade flavor because it reminds me of warmer days ahead!

Soulpancake: Kid President

My husband showed me this video and we just cracked up laughing at this little guy. We could all learn a thing or two from this little buddy. Go watch and have a good laugh…the kid really knows how to make your heart smile.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
