Guess Who’s Back..Back Again

*tap* *tap* *tap* Is this thing on?

Yes friends, it’s me and I’m back! Before I get into anything, let me apologize for basically falling off the blogging bandwagon. I have no better excuse other than life happened. Over the past few months I had A LOT on my plate and at the end of the day something needed to take a temporary backseat and that was my little piece of the interwebs. I promise, I’m back and I have LOTS of fun things planned to share with all of you!

So you may be wondering, what exactly was I doing the past few months? Well, here’s a peek at what I was up to.

Work Work Work Everyday

I work full time so most of my week are spent there. Each day despite how busy I am, I make it a priority to workout so that means 5:30 am wake up calls for either a Pure Barre class or to get a run in. Then, it’s work all day until after work when my life got consumed by a few activities.

Etsy Shop

My little creative corner of the world has seriously kept me so busy! Just when I get orders out the door, more come pouring in. I also have been super fortunate to have some local boutiques reach out and sell some of my shirts in store! If you told me a year ago that I’d be a t-shirt designer one day I might have laughed at you. Truth is though I love thinking of new designs and bringing them to life in my little craft studio.

Volunteer Duties

I’m a member of my local Junior League and this year I was lucky enough to get placed onto a committee that puts on our annual tailgate themed fundraiser. I was in charge of the silent auction which meant that for about 3 months my life was consumed my securing donations, tracking items, organizing them and putting them into packages. My entire basement was filled with all of the donations and there were many late nights of working on getting thing in perfect shape with my fellow committee members. Our event was so much fun and was a HUGE success!

On top of that, the following weekend was a local scholarship pageant that my husband and I are the producers of. This meant script writing, lighting and music decisions, choreography and all that backstage behind the scenes stuff. We both LOVE doing production work and I LOVE getting the opportunity to give back to an organization that has had a huge impact on my life.

Wife Duties

As you can see, it was a full plate of things for me to do. On top of that, I help my husband with our photo and video business which means answering emails, fulfilling orders, and editing videos. And I still had to find time to take our pups on daily walks, make dinner, do laundry, take care of the house etc.

WHEW! I’m tired just thinking about everything that’s happened the past few months. Truth is, something had to go amidst all that busy-ness and I decided that writing a blog each night just wasn’t going to happen. That doesn’t mean I didn’t think about it all the time and how much I missed it!

But, have no fear! I’m BACK!! Life is still busy and my goal, for now, is to post 2-3 times per week. I haven’t decided exactly what days yet so stay tuned while I figure it out.

So thanks for sticking around and waiting for me friends. It feels great to be back!

A Rich Adventure

A Rich Adventure. Yes, that’s right, I finally decided to rename the blog. So why the change?

If You Give A Girl A Ring will always have a special place in my heart. It’s how my husband proposed to me and I think my blog up until now has been a good reflection of my little fabulous life as a wife.

While I love the name and the meaning behind it, a part of me always felt like it was such a long name. Over the past few years, my blog hasn’t been just about myself anymore but about my husband and our life together.

Since I’m not writing about wedding planning anymore and am sharing more about my lifestyle including fitness, beauty and travel, I felt like it was time for a new name that really encompassed that.

So what does this new blog name mean anyways? Well, it sort of has a double meaning. A Rich is pretty self explanatory because it’s my name after all. Plus, I’ve incorporated Rich into my Etsy shop name. Adventure is because my husband I both wrote in our wedding vows how we promised to be each others comrades in adventure and to see the world together. Since we travel a lot and I share more about my life in this little space of the inter webs, I felt that A Rich Adventure was a name that really captured all of that. It’s about me and my husband and our journey through life and around the world together.

Over the next few weeks, I’m slowly transitioning everything over to my new domain name and adjusting my social media. You probably won’t notice anything different since everything will mostly stay the same. But if anything does change, I’ll let you know!

BeeRich Designs

I know I’ve mentioned it before, but in case you missed it, I have my own little crafty corner of the world in an Etsy shop. Wondering where the name BeeRich comes from? Well, my husband’s name is Brandon and everyone calls him B Rich. Since this was a small little business endeavor we’re embarking on together, the name BeeRich just kind of stuck with me since it’s a unique way to showcase our name.

I’ve been hard at work designing and creating new things and this is just the beginning of some exciting things to come! I’d love if you checked out my shop or follow me on my Etsy Facebook or Instagram where I’ll be sharing special sales and coupon codes too :)

Here’s just a peek at some of the things now available in my shop. I have some fun, new releases that will be unveiled each day as well for the next week and a half too!

Product Spotlight :: Mary Kay

I am a self-proclaimed beauty junkie. I love makeup and find any reason to buy new cosmetics. Whether it’s for an upcoming wedding I’m attending or because there’s a new eye shadow palette that’s cute and “travel friendly”, I can come up with any excuse to head to Sephora and load up with new products. Although I have tried a lot of items out there, there are still some brands that I have never tried before. One of those being Mary Kay.

My first thought when I think of Mary Kay is a pink Cadillac..and then I think of cute little older women. I think I’ve never tried this brand before because it’s never been readily available to me. I’m a big fan of heading to the store to swatch out things because ordering online can give me BIG TIME anxiety. There’s that whole waiting a week for it to arrive, and what if I don’t like it? But, I do like coming home to packages on my front door step! Whatever the case may be, I’ve just never tried anything from their makeup line.

I recently got my Influenster Box* in the mail and it was filled with full size Mary Kay products! We’re talking brushes, bronzer, a powder, blush, mascara and more! I have been loving digging into these items and so far I LOVE the bronzer and there’s a cream eyeshadow too that is starting to make it’s way into my daily makeup routine.

I decided to check out what Mary Kay had to offer and here are my top 5 items on my radar currently:

  • CC Cream $20 :: Lately I’ve been obsessed with trying out BB creams and CC creams. This one claims to have 8-in-1 benefits including having SPF 15 which is perfect for the upcoming summer months.
  • Baked Eye Shadow $10 :: I love this little eyeshadow! It has 3 different colors so this would be easy to pack when you’re traveling and they’re great colors for summer!
  • Mary Kay At Play Eye Crayon $10 :: I’m a huge fan of neutral eye colors and the color Over the Taupe looks like it’s right up my alley. This product would be great for an everyday wash of color on the lids.
  • Mary Kay Compact $18 :: This little compact is great because it’s a palette you can create! You can purchase any variety of eye shadows or blushes and they connect in with a magnet. Think of all the possibilities you can make with this palette! It’s also small enough to carry in your purse for everyday touchups.
  • True Dimensions Lipstick inFirecracker $16 :: I am a lip product junkie and this color looks like the perfect red for your lips for the hot summer.

The other great thing I realized about Mary Kay as well is how affordable all of these items are! They’re price just a bit higher than drugstore brands but I think these items are more along the lines of higher end makeup brands.

Given how great these initial items are, I may need to be making a makeup purchase soon!

Things I’m loving On Friday

I have always enjoyed watching monthly favorite videos on Youtube. It’s always interesting to see what items other people have really been into the past month. A lot of the time I get good recommendations from them on new items to try. Just what I need, another excuse to go shopping!

Rather than have to wait until the end of each month for favorites, here are some of my current things that I’ve been loving lately!

  • Statement Necklaces

As a former pageant girl, I love anything that has rhinestones on it. I kinda wish it was appropriate to wear cocktail dresses everyday with tons of beads all over it. But since that’s not my reality, I find any excuse to bring some sparkle and shine into my daily wardrobe. My mom recently bought me these 2 statement necklaces and I can’t get enough of them. I’ve worn them both alone and together, and they help complete my outfit perfectly. If you’re looking for some inexpensive statement necklaces to help dress up your wardrobe, check out It’s become my new go-to website for finding the perfect accessories!

The 2 for $22 sale on 3-wick candles at Bath and Body Works is a sale I will never pass up. It’s always a good time to stock up on candles for our home. I  fell in LOVE with this candle last year and I thought I re-purchased it this past fall. But that ended up being a different doughnut candle, which I was so disappointed about once I started burning it and realized it was not at all the scent I loved.  This past weekend I stocked up on this one and I look forward to burning it each night! It leaves this sweet aroma all throughout the house and really makes my kitchen smell like fresh donuts are baking. Not to mention, it’s nice to smell it and not worry about extra calories!

This bar is the perfect mix of salty and sweet. At 200 calories, this has been a great afternoon snack at work to hold me over until dinner time. I also keep one in my purse just in case I’m out and about and I start to get a little hungry. It really helps to satisfy a hunger craving and it’s easier to reach for this than some chocolate or a bag of chips!

Living in the Midwest has been brutal this winter season. With constant below zero temperatures, my skin has not been too happy with all the dryness that’s been happening. I can’t remember a time when my hands were so cracked and dry. This has been the only lotion that can cure my dry, cracked hands. I’m constantly putting it on..and the scent makes me feel like it’s spring time!

Addicted to Pinterest

When I got an account on Pinterest, I was completely hooked on the site. I spent hours and hours making boards and pinning things. Food, fashion and yes, I had my wedding already planned on there way before we ever got engaged.

Over a year later, I still love playing on Pinterest. I’ve loved finding inspiration for putting outfits together and finding new recipes to try. Throughout the past year, I also made individual boards personalized to each aspect of our wedding..invitations, cake, dress..the list goes on and on.
While Pinterest has been a great source of inspiration for me during this happy time, it also makes me stress out. Everyday I find new things on there and I want to find a way to incorporate all of the ideas! But then it makes my head dizzy when I think of all the new aspects I want to add.
We’re less than 3 months away from the big day and I know I should stop peering at Pinterest for new ideas..but I can’t stay away. I know I need to learn that I can’t have it all and that no matter what, my wedding will be amazing..despite not having every little detail I found on Pinterest.
Do you look at Pinterest often? Do you find it hard to stay away because you keep thinking there will be a better idea on there that you want to use?

Lovely Finds: Marley Lilly

Last year I found this fabulous site called Marley Lilly. It has all sorts of adorable items that come monogrammed and I absolutely adore monograms. Here are two items I got for my birthday last year that I adore…

Both my scarf and tumbler have two of my favorite things, pink and animal print! Throughout the past year I have become obsessed with tumblers. They make my water look so festive! (On a sad note, I dropped my tumbler earlier this year and had so use some E6000 glue to get the top back in working order. It looks ok to the naked eye but hey at least I was able to save it!)

And I love wearing this scarf in the winter; it adds some sass to whatever sweater I am wearing! Leopard is my favorite thing ever and I find any chance I can to wear it.

Check out their website They have anything imaginable and what doesn’t look cute with a monogram?!
