Hello Fresh Review

Dinner at our house goes one of two ways. Either I’m making dinner as my husband arrives home or I get lazy and wait till he gets home and I hope that with enough whining and complaining he’ll just say “let’s go out to dinner.” I really do love to cook, but sometimes the thought of spending an hour or more in the kitchen making dinner, eating and cleaning up just doesn’t sound appealing after a long day at work.

I sometimes get into the rut of making the same things over and over and eventually they just don’t sound appealing anymore. Does anyone else deal with this dinner anxiety like I do? Since I wanted to get out of my cooking rut, I decided to give the dinner subscription service Hello Fresh a try. Here’s a peek into what comes in the box, the dinners we made and my overall thoughts on it.

July Favorites

The beginning of another month means that it’s time share some favorites! Here’s a look into the makeup, skincare and lifestyle favorites I’ve been reaching for during the month of July.

Travel Laundry Essentials

Both my husband and I are known for getting things spilled on us. Pen stains, spaghetti sauce, and dirt are common spills on our clothes. Since we only take carry-on suitcases, especially when we travel internationally, we’ve learned how to clean our clothes on the road and how to be prepared for the spill one of us will make on our outfits. Here’s a little travel case I put together so we’re always prepared for whatever stain we may make.

April Favorites

Another month is over! And I’m so so so happy that’s May! Not only is May my birthday month but my husband and I will also be celebrating our second wedding anniversary at the end of the month. To commemorate the occasion, we’re going on vacation to London and Paris and I’m so stinking excited! My husband has been working A LOT lately which means we’ve pretty much not seen each other for a couple of weeks. I’m really looking forward to relaxing and spending time with him while exploring Europe!

But before we can get any further into May, let’s recap April and see what items I loved throughout the month!

How To Use Velcro Rollers

My hair and I have a love-hate relationship. I have thick, naturally wavy hair. I’m trying to learn to embrace my natural waves for everyday wear but am still not totally loving it. If I just blow dry my hair and don’t style it, then I look like I’ve been struck by lightening with massive frizz everywhere. Obviously I can’t walk around looking like that so I either curl or straighten my hair which is quite the long and tedious process.

Over the years I’ve learned what works well for my hair and what doesn’t. One way that I love to style my hair is with velcro rollers. I love how it gives my hair a little bit of curl at the bottom but gives a ton of volume that lasts all day long. It doesn’t take long to do this so here’s a look at how I use velcro rollers in my hair.

Empties // What’s in my Beauty Trash?

Does anyone else have a closet or cabinet full of lots of makeup and skincare products that you just had to get because they were the latest and greatest thing? Yeah, that’s me. I have so much back stock of skincare, haircare and more lip products than I’ll ever use. I’m making a really good effort this year to stop buying excess of these things and really putting to use the things I have in my closet. It’s about quality over quantity, right?!

I mentioned in my last empties video that I’m trying the 365 Days of Empties that some other girls are doing on Instagram. I made sure at the start of the year that my empties bag was completely free of used up products so that I could get an accurate count over the year of the number of products I used up. So far this year, I’ve used up 39 products. Not too shabby if I say so myself!

February Favorites

Since February is such a short month, it seemed to fly by faster than all the other months in the year! We had a busy month filled with lots of work, a stair climbing race and even a little long weekend to Palm Springs. Although February was short, I still found some new and rediscovered some old favorites!

Younique Mascara Review

Have you heard about the Younique 3D Moodstruck Fiber Lashes? One of my good friends, Michelyn, recently sent me a sample of it to try. Here’s a little tutorial I filmed on how to use it!

January Favorites

We officially have one month of the year 2015 complete! It’s hard to believe how fast time flies. I feel like we were just celebrating Christmas and New Year’s!

While I didn’t have many beauty favorites this month, I have some new snack favorites this month and an exciting announcement about a recent endeavor of mine so check it out!

What’s in my beauty trash?

It’s time for another empties video! I really love making these videos because I make such a conscious effort to use up the items I have in my makeup/skincare/haircare stash. One of my goals for this year is to not buy (as much) of these items so that instead I’m putting what I already have to good use and not letting it collect dust in a closet in my house. It’s so satisfying to put an empty bottle in that empties bag each time I finish one up.
