Yearly Skincare & Haircare Favorites

Last week I shared my favorites beauty products of 2014 and today I’m back with my favorite skincare and haircare products. While my beauty products can change on a daily basis, I pretty much stick to the same haircare and skincare routine for everyday. Without further ado, here are my standout and tried and true products of 2014!

Yearly Favorites :: Beauty

Normally at the beginning of the month you’d see my favorites from the past month. Since it’s the ending of one year and the beginning of another, I thought I’d share some of my all-time beauty favorites from the entire year. Here’s a recap of what were my all-time favorite, always reading for beauty products for 2014!

Gift Guide For The Traveler

If you know someone who is always on the go, then this gift guide has some great present-options for you to shop for. If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, then you’ll know that I love to travel and go to new places with my husband. For the past 8 years, I’ve been in a plane, train or automobile at least one weekend a month. With so much traveling under my belt, I’ve learned a few things along the way about how to stay organized and what things are essentials to making traveling a lot less stressful. Watch my latest video as I share some of my travel favorites that would be great gift ideas!

What are your must have items when you travel?

November Favorites

Happy December 1! I can’t believe Christmas is only 25 days away. It feels like 2014 has just flown by, but doesn’t every year feel like that? I love this time of the year and am counting down the days until Christmas so I can enjoy some time off, relax, see my family and of course, open presents!

Today I have the last of my monthly favorites for this year. Next month, I’ll be doing a mini-series on my all-time favorites from the past year. The items I mention in those videos will be categorized (i.e. foundation, concealer etc) and I’ll only mention something in a category if I REALLY love it..meaning if I have no favorite in that category then there will be no favorite. I’ll also have another video about my yearly lifestyle favorites (i.e. candles, fashion, food etc) so be on the look out for those at the end of this month and beginning of January!

Empties :: Products I’ve Used Up Lately

It’s time for another look into my trash and see what products I’ve used up again. A few makeup items have made their way into my trusty empties bag, and there’s a lot of skincare items this month too!

Ciao Roma!

Ciao! I’m back from Italy and what an AMAZING time the husband and I had over the 11 days we were gone. This was our first time going to Europe and a first time trip for us being tourists the entire time. All of our previous vacations included going to the beach so this was a different experience for us. While we had lots of fun exploring new things and seeing some of the most amazing ancient sites in the world, we came home quite exhausted. I need a vacation from vacation now!

We traveled to Rome, Florence and Venice with a couple of day trips in there as well to Capri and Cinque Terre. Pair all of those cities with my photographer husband who loves to shoot photos and that means we have over 6700 photos of this vacation! Needless to say, I have A LOT to recap with you all!

Our trip started out on Thursday September 11. We were so excited to get on the plane and get going! Unfortunately though, within an hour of being at the airport, our plans completely changed. Our flight to Newark was delayed which meant we were going to miss our connection to Rome. Cue a panic moment from wifey right here. Right away my husband and I got to talking to the gate agent and spent almost 2 hours on the phone with United getting re-routed. Instead of getting there at 7:45 am, we would arrive a few hours later. While I was bummed we’d miss out a whole extra day in Rome to ourselves, I was just glad we’d get there at some point the following day. Now our travels took us to Chicago, followed by Frankfurt and finally ending up in Rome at 2 pm on Friday. It was a long day of travel, but we were so happy to be there!

We kicked off Friday night with a food tour of Rome which was not only fun to learn about food but it was so delicious and fun to eat like a local! Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing highlights from it :) QUESTION // Have you ever had any travel snafus before?

What’s in my carry on bag?

Since I’m leaving on a jet plane for Italy soon, packing my carry on bag has been one of the items on my to-do list. I’ve always been an antsy traveler that can’t sit still so packing a bag that has enough things in it to occupy me for more than 12 hours of traveling is a big task! For this vacation, I’m only taking a carry on bag and a carry on suitcase for all 11 days. YES, this is quite the challenge for the overpacked that I am. Because of this, I needed to allow some room in my carry on tote bag so I can put some of the goodies I know I’ll pick up shopping there! Here’s a peek into what I’m taking into my carry one bag and I’m also showing you my all-time FAVORITE bag that I take with me every time I fly.

How To Stay Organized When You Travel :: My Favorite Travel Accessories and Bags

For the past 10 years, I’ve been a pretty frequent traveler. I typically fly somewhere at least once a month, sometimes more. Over the years I’ve accumulated A LOT of bags, from totes to cosmetic bags. Although I have quite a collection, I always reach for the same bags and accessories every time I travel. Here’s a peek into my favorite things to use when I travel to help keep me organized while on the go!

August Favorites

Since I had so many new favorites last month, my newly discovered products and things that I’ve been using all month long is a little light this month. Have no fear though, I have done some makeup shopping this past week and am crossing my fingers that they make it into my next months’ favorites!

What’s In My Travel Toiletry Bag?

As a girl, I know it takes a lot of things to get ready in the morning. Pair that along with the fact that I pack everything and anything I might need in case of an emergency and you have a TON of stuff that I need to bring with me! Luckily, I’ve paired my travel toiletry bag down to the essentials, plus a few extra items just in case!
