Weekly Food Vlog :: August 10 – August 16

Since I’ve been focusing a little bit more on fitness on the blog lately, I decided to put together a vlog of what I ate for an entire week. I have always liked watching the “What’s for Dinner” vlogs on Youtube. I feel like everyone gets in a cooking rut and starts to eat the same things over and over again. And if that happens to you and you’re anything like me, then I get really cranky when it comes time to deciding what’s for dinner because I get tired of the same foods over and over again.

Watching videos like these help me to think of new dinner ideas and try out dishes I might not have otherwise had before. One of the dishes I made for dinner last week was one that I found on a Youtube channel and my husband and I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to make it again!

So here’s what I ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner from Sunday August 10 through Saturday August 16!

What’s in my gym bag?

Working out is something I have a love/hate relationship with. Let’s be real, there are just some days I would rather not workout and would prefer to take a nap instead. But I know that if I get myself to the gym, even on days I don’t want to, almost every time I feel so much better about myself for going and breaking a sweat.

Despite having those days of not really wanting to work out, 99% of the time I do want to go to the gym. Working out is my “me” time. It’s 30 minutes to an hour that I have by myself. Sometimes it’s my escape from a bad day or it serves as my time to catch up on reading while on the treadmill. Whatever it is, I really do enjoy breaking a sweat because I know it’s keeping me healthy and in shape.

Since I workout 6 days a week, I have a gym bag packed at all times with any essentials I may need while at the gym. So, let’s dig in and see what’s inside my gym bag!

My 5 Minute Face

We all have those mornings where we’d rather sleep in a little bit and not take the extra time to get ready. But then we rush to get ready and every girl needs a makeup routine that can get the job done quick. Here’s a peek into the look I use as my “5 Minute Face” or my “No Makeup Makeup Look”. You know, that look that says “I just woke up like this!”

May Favorites

Well, another month has flown by! It was a busy month for the husband and I. We celebrated my birthday, headed to Scottsdale for a long weekend, had our first anniversary, and we traveled to Chicago because I was a bridesmaid in my college best friend’s wedding. WHEW!

Another month ending means time for some monthly favorites! I tried out quite a few new products this month that I fell in love with, including some new snacks!

Meet My Husband!

So, I’m bringing some more anniversary/wedding love to you all today with a video with my husband! We did the Youtube Husband Tag and I thought this would be fun for you guys to actually see my husband and to see how much he knows about me! Take it away B!

Bridal Emergency Kit

I’m the kind of person who likes to be prepared for anything and everything. My purse is more like a tote bag because I carry everything but the kitchen sink in it. Snacks, bandaids, Tide stick, cell phone charger..you name it, I probably have it in there. So it should be no surprise that when it comes to traveling, I’m the same way.

I’m standing up in 2 weddings this year and I wanted to make sure that while I was away for the weekend that I would have everything needed for an emergency, whether it’s a hair emergency, blister popping up or tear in your dress. So, I put together a big emergency kit in case anything happens that day. This doesn’t have to be only used for a wedding. You can keep it on hand in your house and use for any situation, you can pull items from it when you travel or you can take the whole case with you on a trip.

You can make this as big as the travel aisle at Target or make a small one with just a few emergency items just in case. If making your own isn’t your kind of thing, there are some smaller options out there that are already made so less work for you!

Pinch Emergency Kit

These are small enough to fit into your purse and come with just the essentials. They come in a variety of patterns and all have different essentials for him, for her and for the wedding

In a Pikle :: $33.99-$45.99

This is more of a medium size emergency kit. This comes with clear, zippered folders that you can insert into the pikle. It also comes with all of the essentials for it and when you run out of items, you can order refill packs from their website.

Mr. and Mrs :: One Year Later

One year.

I seriously can’t believe B and I have already been married for one whole year. 365 days.

I guess it’s true what they say, time flies when you’re having fun.

I fully expected this post to be a reflection on my first year of marriage and what I’ve learned and how I’ve changed since becoming a Mrs. The truth is though, I haven’t changed as a person since getting married. But what I have learned is it’s possible to fall more and more in love with my husband everyday. I know, call me cheesy but it’s true. One year later, I still get giddy introducing my “husband”. I still catch myself staring at my ring sometimes thinking how lucky and blessed I am that I have the best husband in the world. I love looking down and seeing his wedding ring on his finger, reminding me that we’re finally married!

B and I have known each other for 10 years now. We dated for 6 years before getting engaged, 2 of those years were long distance. We pretty much know EVERYTHING about each other. He’s a workaholic and I’m a shopaholic. He’s practical when packing for a trip, while I’m not and think it’s ok to bring 8 pairs of shoes for 3 days. He’s a smarty pants and could easily win Jeopardy, but I’ve got better fashion taste and help pick out his outfits for work each day. We balance each other out..like peanut butter and jelly, cheese and macaroni.. just like best friends should.

Since we lived together for 5 years prior to getting married, nothing really changed between us once we exchanged rings and said I do. The only difference is we share finances now, and once in awhile I get a stern look from him asking if I really needed another new outfit (and yes, the answer is always yes!).

But, what a year it’s been. We’ve traveled across the country from San Francisco, down to Cabo San Lucas, St. Maarten and some other places in between. We became a family of 4 with welcoming a new furbaby to the house. There have been numerous date nights to musicals and even more nights of watching Friends. We’ve had fights but more belly laughing moments than disagreements.

I could sit here for hours talking about how amazing my husband is and how much I love having him in my life, but I’ll spare you all the boredom ;). All I know is that this past year has been one heck of an adventure, and I can’t wait to see what the next year will bring to Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Rich.

If you want to see more of our wedding, check out all of my wedding posts. And to see more of our wedding photos, check out this slideshow I made. I also have a fun little video that showcases the first dance we surprised out guests with. Leaving On A Jet Plane :: Travel Fashion

There’s only one thing I want when I’m traveling and that is to be comfortable. I need to wear something that covers my legs and arms because I often get cold on planes. But I want something this is still stylish so I can hit the ground running when I land at my destination. And, the outfit needs to be weather appropriate because I don’t want to be stuck wearing a parka when I fly to a hot climate!

Here’s my travel outfit for this weekend. I recently picked up this green and navy striped maxi dress from the Limited that is so comfortable! Maxis are my dress of choice when I travel in the summer because they keep my legs warm and it transitions well into a nice piece to wear the rest of the day once I land. To keep it casual, I paired it with a jean jacket and my Sam Edelman Gigi sandals in black. My Tory Burch Robinson purse is the perfect airplane carry on because it’s large enough to hold my iPad, headphones and snacks for the plane.

Memorial Day weekend has a new special meaning to me because it’s also mine and my husband’s wedding anniversary. On Monday, we’ll be married for one year. I seriously can’t believe that it’s already been an entire year of being Mr and Mrs. I think this year has gone faster than any year we were just dating.

As I was looking back on our wedding, I put together this little slideshow of some of our wedding photos. While I would love to make a film strip of all 2500 wedding photos and tell you about each one, I’ll spare you the time. Instead, here are some of my favorite moments from our special day :) And special thanks to Bellow Blue Photography for capturing all of these fantastic photos of our wedding day!

4 Or More Makeup Tag

I think we all have those pieces of clothing in our closet that fit so well we have them in multiple colors. Or makeup items that we purchase and fall in love with and have to have them in multiple colors. Recently I took a good look at my makeup collection and realized that there are a few products that I have a lot of colors of. One thing that stands out to me is how many lip products I have! I am a total lip product junkie, especially when it comes to drugstore lip products. They’re so inexpensive and have great colors at a fraction of the price of high end brands!

Take a look into my collection and see which items I have multiples of. Obviously, I highly recommend all of the products in this video!

Bobbi Brown Nude Basics

Bobbi Brown has always been one of my favorite makeup brands. When I first started to really get into wearing makeup, this was the first brand that I purchased from. I really like that Bobbi Brown focuses on natural beauty and using makeup to enhance what you have. All of her products are natural, wearable shades that are perfect to wear everyday. Most of all, I love that her products make you look like you’re wearing no makeup!

I recently purchased the Nude Basics Set from QVC. I should really learn to not watch QVC when she is on because those TV hosts give me anxiety when they start talking about how many have sold! Since this set was a Today’s Special Value and I paid about $80 total for it (the value of it is around $180), I figured I had to go for it because otherwise I would regret it. Take a peek and see what all of the items are in the set!
